Chunk Import

Post by supersonic »

When I slide another chunk into the active on everything gets copied but the FOLDERS are no longer assigned. Anyone found a solution to keep the them assigned to the tracks that were imported?

That's the illogical way it currently is with DP, unfortunately.

Same thing happens with clippings. All tracks come out of their respective folders, for some unexplainable reason.

I've asked MOTU to fix this for years, to no avail :(

If you want this fixed, you should ALSO ask MOTU directly on the phone or via a Support Ticket, so they see more users need this to work as it's supposed to.
Mac Mini Server i7 2.66 GHs/16 GB RAM / OSX 10.14 / DP 9.52
Tascam DM-24, MOTU Track 16, all Spectrasonics' stuff,
Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.

I did :). It would also be nice to be able to import mix settings separately, pro tools style.

Nice!
Hopefully more regulars, even if they are not that bothered by this, help us contact MOTU as well for more benign pressure.

How does this work in PT?

For instance, must you have a matching set of tracks to import "a mix" setting, or how does PT know where to put the plug-ins, etc?

What do those mix sets imports include?

Hello,
It's pretty elegant in PT. When you import a session you can choose what you want, automation, fades, time stamps, etc. It lists out the tracks to be imported and you can choose where to map them or create a new track. Works pretty good for SFX work and music collaborations. Of course now they want you to use the cloud instead.
