New Build of DP 9.13 on MOTU site. Fixes fade crash bug.

Post by James Steele »

Just posting this as a new topic for those who missed Andrew's post in another topic:
Hi MOTUnation-ers,

I work on the DP team at MOTU (recently, toodamnhip shared a post I wrote to the DP Facebook group here). I'm going to be keeping a closer eye on this forum and wanted to introduce myself.

Also, for users experiencing crashes when editing fades in 9.13:

There's a new Digital Performer (v9.13 72621) on motu.com/downloads. This build resolves the fade crash bug.

Thanks,
Andrew

I can confirm it works, and under 10.12.5, too!

Still hoping for a fix for the MIDI CC64 recording bug, but MOTU has acknowledged.

Just finished a mix with this latest version. No crashes during cross fades!! 8)
No crashes at all. Still have a minor issue with Console 1 but nothing major. (The pre-gen seems to screw with the timing of the meters in the C1 GUI)

If you change the visible plug to run in realtime the meters should be accurate...

I think the problem may be that GUI is an app? I don't own one, but I know the plug opens a GUI that is sized pretty large and designed to sort of be an overlay that pops up during adjustments and then goes away when you're done. So I don't think you can just keep it open all the time? I could be wrong here. Just throwing it out there. I think MOTU has the ability to hard code exceptions to pregen into DP. I suspect it does this with UA plugs. Anywhere a plug works in tandem with external hardware the pregen thing gets tricky.

Cool; I was wondering why I got so many crashes on simple fades, but nothing else. I hope my crash reports (quite detailed) helped!

Tech support at MOTU said, "to see visual graphics correctly." When a plug is on top and you want to see the meters or moving graphics correctly... change to "run in realtime." I only use the run in realtime if I want "VISUAL" gui feedback from the plug that is on top... with C6 Multiband Compressor or other GUI intensive plugs or VI's.
