Good to know, but no lefty version :(
You just got me thinking about something interesting. I am left-handed but I control all the mice, trackpad etc., with my right hand. Always have. But the Magic Trackpad doesn't care which hand you use. I tried it on the left and I was surprisingly good at it- maybe as well as with my right. All that signing with my finger at the grocery store checkout has paid off.

Same here. I used a data entry pad at Goodyear that really didn't work with the left hand and just got used to it. For some reason, I started with the mouse on my Mac+ and never thought twice. So when I lost the use of my left arm, typing right-handed was the only transition that was easy—slower, yes but easy. Some key combinations are a real bear involving me picking up my left arm and hoping the finger stays in place while I finish the rest. I hate Option-click.

I've not found a way to speak key combinations only in the Mac OS or Dragon without also enabling dictation. That would be a big help if I could do that in many apps.

Just a note that the Kensington trackball software permits you to change the direction of the scroll wheel for left or right hand use, which I thought was pretty remarkable. Of course the basic device is ambidextrous.

If you get one, it appears in the software that the left button is set to "Click" permanently, as its edit window is grayed out, but as soon as you change the right button to "Click" the left button becomes editable so you can make it a "Right Click" button instead.

Also, the top two buttons can be combined in the "Expert" models to do something, as can the bottom two buttons when clicked together. It also can have "software/application aware" setups.

Left handed here too, very left handed, but right handed with a mouse, probably because playing a guitar left handed involves fine and precise finger movements with the right hand.

For DP, the best mouse I have is a cheap MS USB wireless I got as a door prize. Before it became obsolete, my best was the mouse that came with a Wacom Intuos, great if you have a use for the pen.

Just came across this app for controlling Macs via an iPad.
Dunno if it is good, bad, or otherwise.
Caveat emptor.

…string theory says that all subatomic particles of the universe are nothing but musical notes. A, B-flat, C-sharp, correspond to electrons, neutrinos, quarks, and what have you. Therefore, physics is nothing but the laws of harmony of these strings. Chemistry is nothing but the melodies we can play on these strings. The universe is a symphony of strings and the mind of God… it is cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace.

Yes, the Kensington does support inertia.
Oh, nice! Though both'd be nice, I might set aside the incremental scroll thing if I could have inertia in DP.
I'm wondering if there are any other non-Apple (ambidextrous) mouses out there that support inertia. Anyone?

My favorite "DAW-combo":

- my MX Master. The thumbwheel is completely useless to me because it's not comfortable, I use shift-scroll for horizontal scrolling - but the mouse is great, supports smooth-scrolling and feels great in my hand, I'm left-handed but have always used mouses as a right-handed...

I love my magic mouse. I know that's not the general consensus around here, but hey, it's what I like. Maybe it's because I have small hands? :?

Don't go there....

Just don't!

I've got both. As far as I can tell, pretty much the same from a feel perspective Phil. But don't forget:
The built-in rechargeable battery is the best battery. I know the good ones, the bad ones. I always say: ‘I know the ones people think are good.’ I know batteries you’ve never heard of that are better than all of them. The MM2 battery is great, believe me.

You're going to get us in so much trouble.

[back on topic] So what you're saying is the real difference between the original and MM2 is pretty much the battery? 6/half-dozen eh?
