A question about DP9 VI performance

Post by apanacci »

Hey guys, I am still on DP8 but downloaded the 9 demo to see if my VI,s work better together in 9. I am having problems in 8 when I have a few different VI,s running. Velvet, Ivory,Kontakt,SSD Slate, MODO bass, Expand. These are in my file. 8 runs terrible with these. It hiccups during play , other strange things happen. Not a smooth ride. Not ready to make them audio tracks yet. I downloaded 9 to see if it is any better. Slightly. I noticed that Ivory is acting strange at times, like the sustain pedal kicks out and when that happens I noticed in the Audio performance Window when the glitches happen the Processing Playback bar shoots all the way to the red. I am at 2048 buffer. Any suggestions, thanks !

By the way, I have the same VI configuration in PT 12.7 and everything runs smooth.

In short, for those who don't want to scroll through the other topic, here's the answer re: Ivory:
dix wrote:MOTU and Synthogy, both sent messages this morning suggesting I turn off “Offline Maximum Voices” in Ivory's prefs and that worked! Not sure why the pref is called that, but it looks like I'm good now.
