Hey, I bought it a year or two ago at a not-free price, and it doesn't work in DP.

The AU version either doesn't validate or is 32-bits; I think it's the latter as the issue. 32 Lives?

The VST version is only for VST3. So you'd have to host it with Vienna Ensemble Pro, latest release -- yet I seem to recall someone said that only does the trick if the host can take VST3 as opposed to being a workaround for hosts that don't support VST3.

I can verify that this latest version of the VST works fine in DP 9.1.2 for Windows.

I can also verify that the version I am using is a 64-bit version.

Do you have the most recent version?

Terry, I don't know if I have the latest version, because when I went to the site linked by the freebie offer, or even to my account, the website refused to accept mouse clicks for any meaningful actions.

That was using Opera browser though, as I had to quarrantine Safari for a month due to a disastrous update from early October that froze up many El Capitan based computers.

I'll try it again in Safari, now that this week's update fixes the freeze problem.

There wasn't a regular VST version available earlier; only 32-bit AU and VST3.

Sounds like they have done some level of update on it since I bought it, if only to support regular VST. Maybe the AU version is 64-bits now as well.

Cakewalk Command Center is crashing continuously, but I got it to stay up long enough to catch the update to CA-2A, which previously was not managed by CCC.

Fighting it still though, as it says "click here to continue" and yet there's nothing to click (and clicking "here" does nothing).

Oh, I see -- it's a bogus message. CCC is VERY slow, but eventually the entire screen is replaced by an "Install" button, then that screen gets replaced by the entertainment screen "while you wait" and the bogus message to "click here".

Nope; the dates are now new, but it's still Version 2.0.1.96 from 2013 (copyright) and only available as 32-bit AU and VST3.

Here are the specs that they publish, interestingly enough:

Sort of off-topic, but as Rapture Pro and Zeta+ had updates too, I ran those, and once again am frustrated that Rapture Pro requires a reinstall of its entire library every time the VI gets updated.

Maybe there's a workaround for it not finding its resources (even now that I allow them to stay on the system drive in their default location vs. my library drive), after the VI is updated.

I have to let that finish before I try DP. I only tried StudioOne so far, as that is my "tester" environment for new plug-ins and plug-in updates, before I risk damaging a DP project.

Actually, my comment about Rapture Pro may not be off-topic after all, as I get the same error for both the AU and VST3 version of CA-2A in Studio One:

"Sorry, a fatal error occurred:

Failed to locate resources folder"

Ah, I see, one of CCC's many problems is that it doesn't know how to bring modal blocking windows to front, so they are hidden and inaccessible unless one thinks to drag the main CCC window to expose what might be lurking behind it.

OK, all is well now.

You simply have to delete your old copies of the AU and VST files before installing the new ones.

There is also a new 2016 user manual that shows up in your user directory.

StudioOne still fails on this plug-in for AU and VST both, but DP is quite happy with it.

This is a great plug-in. Kind of funny that my paid version never worked, but now the free one does.

I had some strange issues after installing this plug, but it's okay now. I use Liquid Mix with 32 Lives and some plugs I've loaded and some sort of conflict happens and my projects take a very long time to load and Liquid Mix won't load up. Oddly enough, if I disable the newly installed plug (like CA-2A), taking it completely out of the Components folder, and then reboot and load a DP project, I can often then quit DP, put the problem plug in back in the Components folder, relaunch DP and everything seems fine. This makes no sense in a computer world that's 1s and 0s and software either works or it doesn't, but *something* seems to happen and DP "settles in" and the conflict goes away. Totally sounds crazy saying that, but this has happened more than once with certain 3rd party plugs I've installed.

I may have forgotten to clarify (though the cut/paste of vendor specs states it) that I have verified that this latest update of CA-2A is indeed 64-bits for the AU version, and VST3 is supplied but not VST or VST2. So, no need for 32 Lives.

The GUI was re-done from scratch. The older GUI wasn't as sharp; kind of sloppy looking. It also was slow to load. I imagine they kept the basic algorithm and re-did everything else from scratch.
