Squinting to See Chunk/Sequence Names

Post by ggm1960 »

I've wondered about this for a while, been using DP on live gigs since version 5. Using 9 now and I've always found myself squinting and having to stick my face in the screen to see which chunk/sequence I've loaded. I don't suppose there is a way to pop out, or increase just the size of, the chuck name?

I'm afraid there's none.

What I do is I always write the Chunk's name as a first Marker for every chunk. And I show the Marker name in my transport window,

Works fine for me.

I enabled Zoom in System Preferences > Accessibility > Zoom so I can zoom in by holding down the Ctrl key.

speaking of squinting... any way to make the bar numbers bigger in SE and Tracks window. I have good eyes but come on if its on a second monitor a 5 or an 8 is tough to tell the difference. There is a ton of room on the line. PIA... blind or not...

Only problem with that is: When you're live on stage, zooming in and out while playing is not always an option...

Just a quick thought. Haven't tried it.

Would reducing the display resolution make everything a bit bigger?

I've been experimenting with this now that my older eyes complain. Best thing for me would be to upgrade my aged Mac Pro 3,1 and/ or graphics card so I can attain Retina like resolution with clear crisp, un-pixelated text and graphics but still haven't found a good solution.

This seems like a good suggestion and I'm gonna for sure give it a try, thanks!

This could be a real good option for me also, the only time I want to see the chunk name is right after I load it. After we start the song I'm know what we're doing!

That's what I do, and then I set a huge counter window (screen length), set to display time and markers.
I can read the markers from opposite side of stage!!!

I edited the theme so the background to the column headers is white. Not so attractive but it gives a bit more contrast than the grey on grey that most themes give you. Otherwise all you can do is go to a lower screen resolution.
