As posted elsewhere, the Fireface UFX wasn't seen by Sierra, but I didn't try the beta driver update yet. Also, I didn't try changing the boot order of devices. My focus was elsewhere and I had a gig to rush off to.
Others may have better luck out of the box. So don't take my report as a "definite" that Sierra and RME aren't compatible using the older USB drivers. I also didn't try Firewire yet as I made a full switch to USB a couple of years back, permanently.
