Bounce To Disk. Select the tracks you want chose BTD in the Audio menu. I just tried it with 2 mono guitar tracks panned hard left and right works great!

I'm on 7.24 They might have moved it in 8 or 9. Try it, all you have to do is select the tacks you want make sure the track outputs match and hit OK see if it works.

Whether you use it or not, you do need to know about Bounce to Disk. It did move in DP 8/9. Here's a video.

If you're doing a lot of conversations you may want to snag Audio Finder or other 3rd party utility to bulk process your files.

As much as I dislike Pro Tools, I have always liked that feature. I REALLY wish DP offered the ability to separate a stereo track by dragging it onto two mono tracks or to combine a pair of mono tracks into stereo by dragging them onto a stereo track.

Bounce to disk is now in the file drop down menu or alternatively highlight the tracks make sure they have the same output then hit control J

IMOE, Audiofinder has been my friend for years when it comes to convert audio files. It does 2 monos to 1 stereo, and reverse, and many more ...

Add .L and .R to the filenames before dragging into DP (if you don't need an interleaved file). DP will see it as stereo if they are the same length, etc.

If you need an interleaved file then BTD per the above suggestions. If you have them routed to a master track you need to select that too when bouncing or you'll get a silent file.

I just downloaded the demo of AudioFinder, which is great!

If I use the "use external waveform editor" in DP, it opens the soundbite in AudioFinder.

Audiofinder has a command to split stereo into two mono, which does it instantly.

The only problem I have is that when I drag the two mono files back into DP, they have lost their timestamps?

I'm using 24-bit 48k Broadcast wav as my default for DP.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

thanks!
