I simply must ask - what is that keyboard controller that is giving these players so much delight? [EDIT - found answer at YouTube comments - Roland A88 and A-50 were used.]

Main one used is the Roland A-88, the A-50 also makes an appearance with the dude in the yellow hat.

You guys won't believe this- I have a C7 Disklavier. My former piano tech tried for years to get me to put a special felt on the hammers- the very same pre cold-war felt they talk about in this video! I never did it to my piano because it was too expensive (although all the voicing and ironing he had to do to the stock felt to get it right was practically as much).

Well, now I don't have to! This is going to be the defining keyboard library, I have no doubt. Eric et al, are genius.

Whether you're interested in the VI or not, the 30-min. video is great.

There are few things more exciting than an Eric Persing announcement-- except maybe a DP update!

I hope further discussion of Keyscape moves to a separate thread. I'm interested in hearing reports on DP 9.12 right now. (Sorry James for my contribution to the OT-ness of it all  )

Best,

This demonstrates a company that takes what they do very seriously. Nice to see that they invested in teching the instruments carefully (including voicing the hammers) to make everything how you'd want it. Those artists really put them through their paces, too.

Yes—I was really impressed with the range of players they brought in to bang on this thing—and they each got something good out of it.

The sounds were impressive. The announcement was earlier than expected (I figured it would happen while I'm on vacation, so I wasn't even paying attention to the pre-rumours). Herbie Hancock at the end was a treat as he really challenged it on escapement and dynamics for the acoustic piano.

I'll have to see a full instrument list to know if I can justify $400, given how much I have spent even recently on various keyboard libraries. It's unlikely it covers anything I need, but for someone just starting, it probably is a wise investment as it seems to be in the top tier for everything covered.
