DP9 and Autotune 8

Post by dewpill »

Hi everybody! :)

Has anyone any information about the compatibility between DP9.02 and Antares' Autotune 8?
The Antares website only indicates "possible compatibility" with DP 8. :-/

Thanks. :)

As Antares indicates but doesn't state, AT AU is not fully compatible with DP for the Mac. Some of the functionality works; full automation doesn't. You can download a demo and see for yourself if it's going to work for you.

Since it's a VST3, it will not work with DP for Windows.

It you need everything that AT can do, Logic Pro X is compatible and only $199. You can manipulate the tracks and then import the results into DP. Since AutoTune 8 does not exist as a standalone app, there's your solution.

I stopped upgrading after AT 7. Melodyne fits my needs better.

The Antares AVOX 4 plugs work with DP for the most part. I have them but rarely find a use.

I was having MASSIVE issues with AT7.

I updated to AT8 and it solved all my crashing issues.

No issues here...in fact it helped.

Hope this helps you.

After a couple of updates, those STOPPED for me with AT 7. on those RARE occasions I use it, does not crash for me.

Apparently, you don't need full automation (neither do I). There is a Read Me that states, "Automation is not available in Digital Performer."

Anyway, that's why Antares tells you to run the demo. They don't give the money back if it doesn't perform the way that you want.

Now that I remember, there was a paid update from AutoTune 7 32bit to AT7 64bit. It wasn't much so I paid it.

I never use automation in AT.

I use AT almost everyday for quick vocal arrangements and just slap it on demo tracks.

For whatever reason, AT7 wasn't playing nice. No issues thus far with AT8.

Are you just using AT 8 for pitch correction only or are you also using its more advanced capabilities?

I am pretty sure AT 8 works fine with DP in general. However, the ability to SYNC Auto tune 8 so that, for ex, pitch correction data from chorus 1 can be pasted in chorus 2, with AT following edits in DP ..now THAT probably does not work. And that sucks, as it is really needed. So the solution to such lack of sync is to burn in AT after finished and manually move the burned file from chor 1 to chor 2.

And I'm having issues when AutoTune 8.1 is on a track that I don't seem to have access to the Bypass command in the Sequence Editor.

I still have AT 7 and it allows the Bypass??

Thanks...

DP’s automation with 3rd party company plug ins has been a mess for a long time. bypass is an area that’s just jacked up. Snap Shot is another. Ive been asking them to fix it forever man.

Doesn't seem to make a difference.

In some projects the bypass is available and in others it's not.

Since Antares gave me a lowball upgrade price a few months ago, I've had AT 8 — though I rarely use it.

For anything other than general "let's see what this fixes", I still load the track into Logic as full automation is available.

Now that Apple has dropped the price to $199 for a Pro Apps Bundle that includes Logic and Final Cut Pro (plus MainStage, Motion and Compressor), why not? They've widened the qualifications for edu pricing to the point that it's hard not to qualify (parent of a grad student and other ways for me).

Mind you, I still don't like Logic Pro but it's a tool. Its ability to automate AT, import MusicXML and export GarageBand/Logic files so that I can edit in DP makes it well worth the 2 bills to me.
