Option-spacebar 'runs transport'?

Post by SMS »

For the first time, I'm using the built-in sequencer in drum machine plug-in (Spark). When editing MIDI data in any track, selecting data then hitting option-spacebar to play the selected events also causes Spark to play. Makes sense, I guess, as it's essentially starting the clock, but it's annoying.

Do all VIs with built-in sequencers behave this way?
Is there a way to prevent this?

Thanks

Spence

Does that happen even if Spark is not part of the current active selection?

Yes. no matter what track I'm selecting data in. I have no MIDI track assigned to Spark, actually.

I suspect it's getting a "sequence start" MIDI command. You might search the PDF manual for some of those keywords to see if there's a way to filter that out.
