Expensive for a product from a middling company (I have much of their stuff, but only because it's mostly cheap and seemed worth checking out for some niche roles).
I'm curious about this product though, as it seems an impossible task to do right. Yet my day job involves visualizing measurements from anechoic chambers to represent real-world audio performance, so I guess I shouldn't be so skeptical.
Maybe it does the job. It's a nice interface and covers a lot of ground. By "nice" I don't mean "pretty" -- it's actually rather ugly. But it is functionally clear, which matters the most.
Being able to select your listening device can only go so far, without actual profiles, as the approximation must be fairly coarse for headphones vs. 5" vs. 8", and I'm not even sure it distinguishes two-way vs. three-way but imagine it assumes two-way even for the 8" monitors.
I'm pretty sure this is a unique product. Lots of mic simulators and emulators, as well as headphone compensators, but I don't remember there being a plug-in that tries to model what different playing devices will sound like.
It would especially be interesting to see/hear how well this plays together with something like the Sonnox Fraunhoffer Pro-Codec tool for MP3 conversion and simulation etc.

Re: Audified MixChecker for checking mixes vs. consumer play
Hey MH! Aloha from San Diego.
I've been using IK's ARC2 kind of along these lines… When mixing, I switch between my main monitors flat and with ARC correction and find it really helps me get things right. Second monitor pair and headphones reveal additional things I missed, but I really like ARC. My mixes have definitely improved (and get good quicker) since I put it into service last year.
Edit: Spell check had it as "ARC corruption", and this may technically be true, but it works for me!

It's an interesting concept. It's basically a convolver. You would also need to take into account the gear it's being played back on to get it sounding "right" I would think. (But I'm no acoustic scientist, so what do I know?) Assuming good IRs, I think it might give a rough approximation at best, right?
Actually I think Speakerphone from Audioease could be used in a similar fashion. It has a bazillion speaker models. I've never really thought about that.
Still for someone who does a lot of mixing with headphones such as myself, it could be helpful(?). I downloaded the demo to find out.
You are right about the cost though. Half the asking price would be more reasonable.

Here's a freebie you might want to check out. I really don't know if this thing is useful at all, so you'll have to test it yourself. I haven't tried it with headphones yet.
