It might be challenging to tweak the transitions in Song Mode. In a single sequence you can tweak the time-interval between tracks and crossfades pretty easily. I think DSP-Quattro is pretty good for this function as well.
Doing most of the Mastering in DP and then any remaining track balancing and spacing in DSP-Quattro then rendering the final CD master works well here.
