PSP release Hammond B-3 Chorus/Vibrato emu plug-in
http://www.pspaudioware.com/plugins/mul ... b-scanner/
No-brainer; bought it without listening. For loyal customers, only about $17, and $39 for everyone else until sale ends and it goes to $69.
PSP makes my favorite spring reverb plug-in (used to use the ones from Softube and Overloud), and they already have the Leslie effect, so some are speculating they'll go full-out and do a Hammond B-3 Virtual Instrument next.
Not sure how soon I'll use this plug-in and do a shootout, as I don't have any B-3 parts on my current jazz album and am trying not to spend time on other projects until it is finished.
My main comparison will be to the built-in Chorus/Vibrato of the current Hammond XK-1c, which is my fourth clone wheel (I started on Roland VK-7, then Hammond XK-1, then XK-3c and now XK-1c).

Re: PSP release Hammond B-3 Chorus/Vibrato emu plug-in
Got the email and listened to the demo. I will say this - it's fairly accurate as to what was on the original B3's and for me that's the issue - I was never nuts about the effect to begin with. I might give the demo a shot this week but am not holding out hope.
As to pricing - I only have a small handful of PSP s/w so my price only dropped to $36.57. AD has it at $34.95 when logged in.
I don't know that many players outside of gospel music that even use the effect; seems to be mostly a Leslie (save for Jon Lord who used a guitar amp - Fender Twin IIRC).

You just had to give me a good reason to consider this, didn't you? Damn!I don't know that many players outside of gospel music that even use the effect
At its $69 price, naw, I don't need this. In fact, I don't need this, I don't need this, I don't need this… I may buy it anyway @ $31.75.

Re: PSP release Hammond B-3 Chorus/Vibrato emu plug-in
I have an actual B-3 and NEVER use the vibrato, but I do use the lightest chorus setting almost all of the time.
It does run through a Leslie, too.

What's to keep someone from using this to modify another sound?

Absolutely nothing. There's a word for that… creativity, perhaps?midilance wrote:What's to keep someone from using this to modify another sound?

Haven't even tried out L'otary (sp?) yet, but if it's PSP, it pretty much has to be good. Best compressor plugs on the market, also a big fan of their reverb and delay plugs.
