Apollo, DP7 and PT possible?

Post by dweiss »

Things are changing fast here. I'm adding a firewire Apollo Quad to my studio and would like to use either of DP7 and PT 10 with OSX 8. Should I expect them to all coexist happily on the same drive or is there trouble ahead? I'm guessing I should pull the 424 pci-e card, but do I need to? Thanks.

You shouldn't need to take out the PCIe card. Hook everything up and see if it works!

Please report back how it goes. I'm considering doing the opposite. I have an Apollo as my main interface but was thinking about adding a PCIe 424 back in > 24i/o to drive a modular synth with CV's, triggers, gates, etc (real voltages, not virtual). Does anyone know if you still have to create an Aggregate Device to use more than one interface? Last time I created an Aggregate Device (around 2006) it totally hosed my system and have never considered it since then.

I think what you would do is open the hardware configuration and click on the 24i/o and then shift click on the Apollo and you should have both. I've done it with an 828 and a 24i/o.
Worth a try.
