DP sub-forum at GearSlutz

Post by Tesionman »

Just in case some of you didn't know and might be interested, the guys over at GS created a sub-forum for DP.
I am actually amazed they did that, to be honest. :)

That's really great. There should be more than one DP forum. :headbang: OSXaudio has one, but that place is dead.

Looks like it's been there for over 5 years, and generated <50 threads. Nice though, that DP is not in the "Other" list.

No, they just added it this week and moved some old DP threads to it.

Well, good on them then. Maybe MOTU's efforts are paying off. It would be nice if SOS could put DP back on the A list too.

I'm guessing for DP to make it back into SOS' A list, it would need an over abundance of loop-tastic, beat-making, music-in-a-box features to move up the general sales numbers ranks (no offense SOS - you are still probably the best industry mag). I'm fine with using a supposed "B-team" DAW since it isn't overloaded with so many features it isn't useful for writing music. I've used all of them, and DP is the top of the A-list for film scoring, for me at least. Sometimes it isn't what an application is missing compared to the competition, but how well it implements what it does have.

Honoured to be of service, labman; you're too kind of course.

I just spotted Magic Dave in that forum, so you may not want to rule it out completely. Mind you, he did provide a link to a thread here (DP vs Logic)...
