How to set a new MIDI track's input default to what I want?

Post by rockman413 »

Hi,
if I add a new MIDI track, the input of it always was selected to some source I don't want. Is there a way we can set a new MIDI track's input to what I want by default?

Please reference the manual for basic information. There are many ways to change and manage tempos. It's just too much for a forum post. The information is all there in the manual.

Not that I know of, but here's a workaround: Add a MIDI track that will act as a template. Change the input to what you want as the default. Don't record in it, leave it blank. Add a Similar Track by Control-Command clicking the template track. Include the Option key to add multiple Similar Tracks.

If you use Duplicate Tracks, you get all the plugins and plugin settings, too.

I have no idea. I sure thought I'd replied to the tempo post. Maybe I accidentally closed it while trying to reply. Doesn't matter, though. The intent was clear.

As of DP9, use "Create tracks" (ctrl-shift-c on Windows). Here you can set the input and output defaults for as many tracks as you want to add, and have inputs and/or outputs assigned consecutively if so desired.
