I've gotten emails from Slate, Gobbler, and Native Instruments warning me not to upgrade to El Cap.
I expect to see a few more of these warning emails in the next day or so.

This change in the AU spec is a big PITA. If developers alter their AU implementation to accomodate the change, then that will likely break things for people using Yosemite or older OS's. Man, my head hurts just thinking about the ramifications..

I usually skip every other OS upgrade anyway. Most likely won't even go to El Cap.

You could be right but I hope this turns out to be a minor glitch. I was looking forward to performance improvements for my old Mac. If I have to update a load of plugins I could be on 10.10 for a long time.

The warnings I have seen specifically refer to AU validations in Logic and Main Stage. This doesn't make sense unless there's some way that the Apple apps verify AUs in a way that others don't.

I suppose some of us will know soon enough. Anyway, I am curious. I'm certainly not adding any plugins for awhile and am hoping that what has already been verified in DP stays verified. Although I have Logic, if it doesn't behave for little awhile, that's nothing to me.

Well we won't have ANY answers (that was not intended as a joke, btw) until the OS is released and either some poor slob trashes his system or EVERYTHING is working... (that was a joke this time). I, for one, will be holding off a good long time on this one. Possibly my last OS is already on my Mac, but hopefully not.

Hard to say. The validation app is part of OS X, but DP, Logic, etc don't all pass exactly the same plugins.

Yep, that's what has me curious.

If it is released early enough that I feel comfortable playing with it before work, I will know in the morning. Otherwise, it won't be till the evening.

One thing that concerns me is my Yahoo paid email account. POP broke in July. iMAP broke 10 days ago, I found a workaround, then Yahoo got it working again last week. It broke again in iOS 9.01 – the workaround is good but Yahoo Bizmail still doesn't work properly. I will be bailing on Yahoo soon enough but it would be nice not to screw around with it after I update.

I have a clone of my system ready, authorizations already done so bring it on, Apple. Let's see what you got!

DP 9.01 seems to be working fine with El Capitan on my machine, Kontakt as a plugin too... the thing that's not up to its usual standards so far for me has actually been Cuemix:

Here's a helpful - though incomplete - list of El Capitan compatibility at Sweetwater's web site.

This list is not good news. Just about everything I have is not ready. No word from Waves.

...Yikes! A regrettable number of non-supported programs.

Stefano has tried DSP-Q on 10.11 and didn't experience any major problems. But he says he is spending his time on DPS-Q 5 and won't be worrying a lot about "debugging 10.11" for now.
