Assigning MIDI CC to external controller

Greetings all

I have juts bought a Waldorf Pulse 1 and have it set up to DP. DP sends MIDI CC from the controller in the sequence window, I can control filter frequency etc. However, is there anyway to assign that CC to my external MIDI controller. In the mix window for example, right click of the mouse and there is a MIDI learn option, is there a way to assign the CC number to the external controller within DP?

I'm obviously missing something, but can't get my head around it, any advice is much appreciated.
