QuickScribe Display

Post by Rick Cornish »

I am viewing a sequence in the QuickScribe Editor. One track is displayed on a grand staff, however some notes are displayed using 3-4 ledger lines below the treble clef, while other low notes display on the bass clef. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to how DP breaks the display of notes between TC and BC. I've tried fiddling with the Track Options dialog to no avail. Any ideas on how I can get QS to divide parts at middle C?

Thanks.

I never found this functionality in DP, and have done this workaround MANY times.

Split the track into two. Lock one at treble clef and one at bass, and you can move notes between the tracks as you need.

The only downside with this, is you can't switch clefs with either staff.
M1 MBP; OS 12, FF800, DP 11.3, Kontakt 7, Reaktor 6, PC3K7, K2661S, iPad6, Godin XTSA, Two Ibanez 5 string basses (1 fretted, 1 fretless), FM3, SY-1000, etc.

Got this from Magic Dave—MUCH easier.....

"DP uses an expert system for notation transcription. DP does not use a fixed split point when notating into a Grand Staff. The idea is that DP does it's best job to place notes played by the left hand into the bass clef and notes played by the right hand into the treble clef.

"If you disagree with DPs transcription, you can over ride that. You can select any notes and choose Switch Staff from the Quickscribe window mini menu."

Oh, yea! I forgot about that. I think I just got so used to my other way of doing it. But yea, that's much easier!
