DP8 + DM-3200 as control surface?

Hi folks ... I did a bit of searching but didn't find a good resource about this. I'm a long time Tascam DM24 owner but I think I might be upgrading to a DM-3200 that I can get for a good price (of course I'll have to replace the screen on it as well but c'est la vie).

Hoping someone here can confirm for me that the DM-3200 will work well as a control surface and that I'll be able to do 16 faders at a time with it (the DM24 can only do 8 and is quite limited in what works and what doesn't). From what I've read so far it shouldn't be a problem as it can emulated a Mackie control + multiple extenders ... but I'd really like to hear it from someone that runs DP as well. I know at least one person here seems to run this sort of setup but not sure if he's ever tried it as a control surface or not ... @Gravity Jim I guess this post is for you!

Hello Gerk,

I went from a DM-24 to a DM-4800 and yes, you can assign all 16 faders and pan knobs! (Up to 24 on the 4800) The transport controller works with it as well. It all works flawlessly under the Mackie Control format.
I believe that you can assign certain macros to give you even more control, but I've never tried it.

Awesome and thanks. I picked up DM-3200 yesterday and setup the control surface stuff last night, worked great. Looking forward to digging into it some more this weekend.
