Pitch automation?

Post by Tesionman »

Howdy!

I want to automate the pitch of an audio file for effect purposes. For example: To make a pitch bend wheel effect on a soundbite.

Is this possible in DP?

cheers

Not with pitch automation, try the nano-sampler.

Yeah, the Nanosampler has that pitch function although not very practical!
Thanks for your response.

Apple has a pitch-shift AU that is just part of their bread & butter set. I think it is called AUPitch. Should already be on your machine.

You can then run an automation lane to automate the pitch.

I used this to introduce wow & flutter into a "vintage" film track. It might do what you need.

To be clear, the audio file you want to pitch shift is not monophonic, right? i.e. not a vocal track, etc.
DP11, 2019 16-Core Mac Pro, Monterey, 64GB RAM. RME HDSPe MADI FX to SSL Alphalink to SSL Matrix console, and multiple digital sub consoles. UAD Quad PCIe. Outboard stuff.

Its for two mono guitar tracks(Left & Right).
I used the AUpitch on each track and automate how much I want it to pitch. Worked fine.
