Izotope Ozone 7 on sale through 11/11/2015

Post by mikehalloran »

The Ozone sale prices came out today. Sweetwater and AudioDeluxe have them. AudioDeluxe is a bit lower with coupon FALL2015 so I'm quoting that but Sweetwater usually matches price if you call them up.

If you're looking to get into Ozone 7, now's the time at $165 for new users. Upgrade price from 1-6 was a little better last week but $90 is still good.

If you're waiting for Ozone Advanced to get inexpensive, I think this will be good as it gets. $381 for new users; $215 upgrade from Oz1-7, $129 from Oz5A-6A, way lower than in years past.

I was going to upgrade my O3 license to get the Maximizer tool upgrade for $90 but, at $129, I will update my O6A license instead to get the new Codec Preview tool, also. The new "vintage" tools are of little interest but I may think differently once I have them.

I got an e-mail this morning from iZotope saying that my discount coupons would be delayed 24 to 48 hours due to delays in their back-end system (whatever that means).

Yea, those are for the upgrade 'coupons' in your Izotope account — and they're in there this morning. That's why I checked the resellers and saw that they already have those prices online. With Sweetwater matching the coupons during a sale and AudioDeluxe offering another 10-15% off (which Sweetwater usually matches when I call them), I haven't used my Izotope upgrade coupons in years. I'm happy to give good resellers my business.

AudioDeluxe has some really good bundles that include Trash 2, Nectar 2 and Alloy 2. Prices depend on what you already have. If I didn't have those already...

There have been times when the Izotope upgrade coupon was the best deal but not in years. Not this time either.

No BFD3 for $99? Steven Slate Platinum 4.0 instead

Got the email from AudioDeluxe, GC and Sweetwater that Steven Slate Drums Platinum 4.0 Software (Download) is $99. Steven Slate Drums Trigger 2 Platinum Drum Replacement Plug-in (download) is the same price.

AudioDeluxe has them for $82.99ea using Coupon: FALL2015. Sweetwater usually matches – so will Guitar Center if you walk into the store and pay the sales tax. Hmmmmm...

Here's the demo video from Sweetwater.
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SSDrums4Pl-e

I think someone's going to get my money this time.

I don't think I need the trigger but sometimes I wish that I had Drumagog. Hmmm...

PlugandMix SPL Rangers $9 November 19-22

Post by mikehalloran »

Every Friday is Black Friday – SPL EQ Rangers Vol. 1 for $9 – Plus More Deals
https://plugin-alliance.com/en/products.html

SPL Rangers is three different EQs each with 4 user defined presets and voiced for the task. Vox, Bass and Mix. I wouldn't give the regular $149 but certainly useful at $9. Like many, the Bass Ranger is the only one I use.
https://plugin-alliance.com/en/products ... vol_1.html

I got these in 2013. The current build is 1.84 and I was on 1.70 so I upgraded away.

They also have four freebies, now at version 1.04. You can download the bundle here:
https://plugin-alliance.com/en/products ... le_v1.html

They announce that El Capitán is not supported. All of mine authorize correctly in DP 9.01 and Logic Pro X 10.2. I only tested functionality in DP 9.01 – they work fine.

Wavesfactory Black Friday Sale

Post by Rick Cornish »

Like a lot of you, I'm sure; I woke up this morning to notices of Black Friday and Early Black Friday sales from a slew of developers. I'm passing this one along from a small developer who—in my experience—has been very DP-friendly.

50% off 49 sample libraries + 1 audio plugin.
Get our libraries from less than €5.
Get TrackSpacer for less than €30.

+1 nice libraries,I already have the Suspended Cymbal library and the new VQ Drums now I'm looking at adding Tea Towel Drums and Old Tape Piano, nice libraries.
Trackspacer looks really interesting, how easy it is to use,how well it actually works and whether I'd actually use it is my dilemma.......

Ha! You guys beat me to the punch. There are four freebies in there, the Old Tape Drum. W-Clock, Freelodica and Whispers

I will get Old Tape Piano. Boy does that sound terrible – in a cool way! While at first listen, it seems best suited for those who compose one-reel silent comedy soundtracks (and you know who you are – check sample 2), I like these oddballs for commercials that I do on occasion. It opens in Kontakt 3.5 and newer as well as EXS24 – should open in MachFive3, right? Most of us have other tools for distressing a piano but, for $5 (or whatever the exchange rate is)? Yea, I'm in.

IMHO, Trackspacer is the best sidechain tool out there. Much more transparent than using even a multiband compressor. They have a free demo, if you want to check it out.

That's what I paid for my first pair in 1986 — Fry's had them on sale. Often imitated but never equaled IMO. Still my favorites.
