I always assume everyone has Kontakt,my bad.......
NI should have some kind of sale for Kontakt sometime coming up again.........
fwiw There are so many great libraries from numerous developers that run on the Kontakt platform. Once you get Kontakt you might actually regret it because you might spend WAY too much $$$ lol

From getting the LoopLoft Drum Director, I discovered there is a free Kontakt Player VST one can use to load people's programs written for the Kontakt platform. Here is the link:

+1 on Konkrete. Good EDM material for sure, but I t's actually pretty versatile (it also has sounds that work well in ambient/chillout and even scoring in the Atticus Ross/Harry Gregson-Williams mode) and I love the way it's set up so effects are easily editable for each sound.

If you get it, let me know and I'll send you a little DP sequence I built to audition the sounds in each kit.

I forgot to mention that, along with the free Kontakt player, they also have a free library of sounds you can also get to explore Kontakt's abilities with. Scroll down a bit on the same page as the player download and enter your email address to get sent the download link.

Mike,

I just looked deeper at their free stuff, and unfortunately they all seem to require the FULL Kontakt, and won't work with the free player. Too bad.

Well, thanks! That's interesting! I am looking at NI's 88-key keyboard, so will likely make the plunge one day soon into Kontakt 12 as its dust settles.

That's the way that NI does it. Licensed libraries can use the free player; freebies and unlicensed libraries must use the full version.

NI has upgrade paths for those using licensed libraries with the free Kontakt player. The $29 I paid should put me on that path once I have registered. I will explore that when I have some time.

Thanks!

iZotope Flash Sale

Post by James Steele »

iZotope doing a Facebook flash sale for next 6 days or so. Insight Metering Suite is $100 as well as others.

http://offers.izotope.com/100k-facebook-like-promo.html

Nectar 2 is also on sale for $100. I have Nectar Elements and the upgrade to Nectar 2 is $179 normally. I'll have to think about this one. :)

I've been seeing their ads pop up in the weirdest places. Got one yesterday on cnn's website. It was a video ad for Ozone.

Insight is bundled with Ozone Advanced and RX Advanced.

If you click the bottom of that link, you'll find that Ozone Advanced is bundled with Alloy 2, Trash 2 and Nectar 2 Production Suite for $499. That's less than the upgrade prices from older versions of those same tools.

If I didn't have all five already...
