Re: PSP Reverbs on sale again

Post by mikehalloran »

If you get an error while unzipping the license file... like before, expanding the zip files with Keka.app (freeware) get them to work correctly in OS 10.12.

When I contacted PSP last time, they insisted it's Apple, not them. I'm beginning to disagree since only PSP, Eventide and IK ever showed it. I don't know if Eventide still has an issue with this but IK Multimedia fixed their's.

Update: Eventide released v. 2.2.5 of their plugs in February. The Mac installers download as .dmg instead of .zip so that's no longer an issue, I suppose.

Forgot about that. This will be the first authorization I've done with Sierra. Thanks again.

Sure!

I also grabbed EasyReverb. I've been using Ozone 5 for rooms and small halls—really like it but it's a bit of a resource pig and it's no longer being updated. I'm going to try the EasyReverb next time to see what happens.

I already have PianoVerb2 from a previous bundle. I rarely use it but there's nothing quite like it ... well, except the free version of PianoVerb.

I don't need yet another plate so I passed on 2445 EMT.

Got it! Thanks Mike! This is definitely a fine spring reverb.

I threw it on the Beethoven Mandolin Sonatina in C, changed the mandolin to a Strat VI and got a Dick Dale Miserlou-esq sound. Fun!

I see that AudioDeluxe is offering these reverbs for the same price plus adding the ClassicQ eq for $19—a price I don't see anywhere else. It's $69 on the PSP site and you can demo it.
http://www.pspaudioware.com/plugins/equ ... _classicq/

The difference between buying from AD vs directly from PSP is that PSP still credits a loyalty discount, even for things on sale. Bottom line, if you've bought from PSP before, you'll save money buying them directly. If you're a new user, it won't make a difference whom you buy it from.

If you want that eq, snag it for $19 from Audio Deluxe.

I have so many EQs, I dunno...

Again, if you're on Mac Sierra, you will need to use the keka.app freeware to unzip the PSP license file(s).

Those are great plugs. If I didn't already have them I'd grab them.

Absolutely essential to my work. A great deal of the time that I use RX, it's Denoise and Dehum. Dialog Denoise is a variant on the basic Denoise — a bit more transparent which is good. You can use them on automatic or teach it the noise you are trying to remove.

All of those functions come in handy once in a while. De-clipping is especially useful and especially hard to find in the low-budget world I occupy. Just snagged these, they will no doubt come in handy.

I'm curious to discover how well the NR works on non-dialog material.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on it and loaded up a project where I had used another product to eliminate hiss on a lavalier mic on interviews. Turns out, at least in that application, I think I preferred Acon Digital's De-Noise which I had already used. I would suggest checking out their demo if you have time. Their Restoration Suite is $99 however, but it seemed their De-Noise did a better job of preserving the high frequencies in sibilant consonants. Still I think I'll be happy with the RX Plugs on other applications.

Sample Magic Boost $59 - Today Only

Post by James Steele »

I got an email today from Dontcrack and there's a sale on this limiter/finalizer type of plug called Boost. I'm going to try the demo today. I'm a total slut when it comes to these loudness type plugs. I make no representations here... haven't listened to it yet.

Might warrant a "shreds" treatment ?

For a sec, I couldn't find my usual fave shreds, but it looks like there are more.
