Yep, I agree. Still use O5 here too.

Nicky, did you get this resolved?
Funny you should ask, Bill, and thank you for your concern, bud.

A minute ago I received an eMail from my cousin; he's apparently heard from a "Technical Support Specialist" who confirmed that his "details" can be changed to mine. All he needs to do is forward my eMail address to Slate Digital and they'll do the rest, whatever that is. Hopefully all I'll need to do thereafter is fire the plug up and follow the prompts for registration.

It's 3 weeks today, so I'm very relieved and grateful that support chose to reply to him. I asked late last week if he could have a go seeing as I'd not enjoyed any success thus far. It's kinda funny to me, 'cause as I said here 10 years ago, I'm used to being ignored in life, generally. That's a critical area in which this place helped me immensely - guys like you actually noticed me. I'm sure you appreciate the value of this, so I won't attempt to describe my appreciation.

The liney bottom is that something's happened, which means that within days, something will happen. Yay! Whoopee! Thanks again, Billy-boy.

I don't think they were ignoring you as much as they probably prefer dealing with the registered buyer to avoid fraud shenanigans and the associated headaches of knowing whether or not that they're actually dealing with the purchaser.

Thanks! I was also looking to pick up Scrivner 2 for awhile and these guys have it for $19.50 ($45 on the Scrivner site). Being my first order, I filled out a form and got an email code for 10% off my first order. Got both for $31.05. :woohoo:
After I paid, I got links to both companies' web sites where I could register and download – painless.

Update: Oct 12. 1am PDT, the web site now says ending in 20 hours.

Although I have been using TwistedWave in iOS for a couple of years now on MidiLife's recommendation, I'd not considered it on the Mac – especially at $80. I have been looking for a batch converter for FLAC for a long time (converting one at a time in RX 4 gets old when one studio gives me a bunch). At $15, this fits the bill.

I have no idea if this tool is any good especially as I have IRCAM in MachFive 3 already – but it's part of the package:

ZTX Time Stretch/Pitch Shift technology
Change Pitch and Speed
TwistedWave allows you to change the pitch or the speed of a piece of audio independently of each other.

This capability is provided with the ZTX Time Stretch/Pitch Shift technology, licensed from Zynaptiq GmbH, one of the most advanced algorithms for time-based manipulation of audio material available today. With an excellent audio quality, it is really usable for pro audio work.

The ZTX technology also enables TwistedWave to perform pitch correction. Given a piece of audio, ZTX will automatically pitch shift it to the closest note.

If you don't know theese plug ins the Elektra DSP eq sounds amazingly sweet. Personally Elektra has become my preference over the Maag.

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the tip about the Twisted Wave sound editor deal. Not sure if it is still available today, as it was a one-day thing.

The pitch & time stuff is not as good as IRCAM (and is much slower to process) but it is better than what is included in Audacity (for example). It might work better on monophonic material. I haven't needed it for that function yet.

I have Fussion (which is a lean little editor that let's you edit MP3's without re-encoding), and DSP Quattro, which also has some very fine features.

Where Twisted Wave seems to shine is that you can zoom all the way into the sample level (and it shows the samples as dots along the waveform, like in Audacity). You can't zoom in that far with DSP Quattro or Fussion. Also, the batch processor that is comparable to the one in DSP Quattro. It also includes a metadata editor (and one that can be employed in the batch processor).

Those are just some first impressions. At $15, it was a good deal.

You know, this possibility occurred to me as an afterthought after having made that post, Billy.

I'd like to think that you're onto something there. That said, I'd have nevertheless appreciated a response, even if it were to clarify this position, if indeed it was one they took.

Thanks bud.

Just for kicks, I went back to the link and now it says 'ending in 6 days' Ha!

Twisted Wave lets you try it out for 30.

I also have DSP-Q. TW has functionality that I was lacking. I was using Izotope RX to convert FLAC files one at a time — no more of that! :headbang:

Just as a side-note, Twisted Wave will not process MP3 metadata without re-encoding. If you want to edit metadata and NOT re-encode an MP3, use iTunes, Fussion, or a tag editor.

Cubase 7 and 8 Pro for $185 plus a USB device for Cubase included. I have no use for Cubase unfortunately, but to their credit Steinberg almost always add new features like VCA faders etc. first.

Looks like TrackPlug is only AAX for ProTools. Can't be used by Digital Performer users. Also, I have to think on the policy for this topic regarding advertising sales of software that are direct competitors to DP, like Cubase.

Yeah, I think it's a universal license for Trackplug, hard to tell? It talks about side chaining in AU and VST in the same page there, and Wavearts don't sell the licenses for various formats separately themselves. At $10 though.. I'll call them since I pointed it out! :)

AFA other DAWs entirely up to you. I just think about using them to help 'translate' to DP mostly, and the few people I know who use Cubase I don't collaborate with so I'm passing myself on that deal.

Just got off the phone with Musicians Friend, it's just a bad ad, TrackPlug is all formats, just overtly advertising AAX support. At $10 I'm a sucker. Saysfree shipping though, so it may be box, not download, waiting for email confirmation. It also comes in MAS, which made me immediately purchase. :headbang:
