Well, I will admit to purchasing it. The claim of THE go to reverb is over the top. However I find it.. not THAT bad.

It has it's sound, but hey I'm still using the Yamaha SPX-90, which definately was not a LX480 but it has it's use and character that to this day has daily use in major productions.

So I like it...
Why?
1. Used on the right material and context it's good
2. The concept is worth supporting. Having the Imaging controls is something others should take note of.
3, The build in dynamics is quite cool, when used with another verb or dlay. Remember the old David Bowie vocal set up with gated room mic? (which even made it into a plug in) Oracle made it fun - for me at least - adding "something" to only the loud parts of a track, from acc gtr over drums to vox.
4, at the price of cappuccino these days it's worth experimenting.
5, I like their interface design

I'm good with this.
Yes, I agree that it is all about context. I very definitely will be picking it up myself. Interesting about the dynamics implementation, and I definitely like the interface design - that is quite beautiful, actually. :)

We'll see - at the intro price it is worth checking out, but at their "regular" price, I'm feeling like they might be shooting themselves in the foot.

Not with the plugin, but I have bought these no brainer Waves plugins in the past, not realizing the WUP fee then increases significantly. So far, I can keep using the older versions I have with DP and Logic, but at some point it will cost a lot to keep using them.

Saw that. Don't really need more reverb plugs but it's only $24 or $39 when paired with Character.

Waves Abbey Road Plates

Post by James Steele »

Just when I thought it was safe to go online... Waves pushes this ad for this via Facebook:

https://www.waves.com/plugins/abbey-road-reverb-plates

$29, normally $249. I'm a sucker for almost every reverb that comes down the pike. I wonder what sort of master plan Waves is running here to get us hooked in for $29? I remember when they didn't deal AT ALL.

Waves will update the plugin just after your WUP expires, then up your WUP to get their $200 back.

Ha! Well, I'm on a a MacPro 5,1 and don't anticipate upgrading my OS beyond Sierra, so I went ahead and bought it.

I've bought a few of these and not had to upgrade them so far. I guess when they go to V10, all support will disappear, but I expect to be OK with V9 if I stay at mac os 10.12/13. (Not even sure my iMac will run 10.13)

I think I'll be on 10.12.x for a long time. Can't see any feature I just can't do without in High Sierra.

High Sierra?
OMG! I guess I've been living in the dark face of the moon for months now... I'm still in Yosemite... And it's working fine.

There are about 60, but you have to wonder if they'd use Death Valley and a few others.

No problem. Sorry if I sounded like I was "scolding" you. :D I mentioned it earlier and it's just how phpBB works, so just for this topic I try to remind people every so often. If you're using Tapatalk, you can't even access the subject header at all unless you're creating a new topic.
