Glad I caught this, as I love to share the good fortune I have already enjoyed:

The Korg Legacy Collection 1/2-price sale is on (started Nov. 25th, on through Jan 5th, 2017)

All individual items only $24.99USD - the entire Legacy Collection is $99USD.

Wavestation
M1
PolySix
MS-20
Mono/Poly
MDE-X Effects

All incredible VSTi emulations of the originals! And far, far easier to edit!
Lots of free banks from the download page after you buy-in towards the bottom.

http://www.korguser.net/shop/software/

Info:
http://www.korg.com/us/products/softwar ... ollection/

No-brainer to me to have the Wavestation and M1 at the very least. (I have bought bits and pieces in sales over the last two years since paying full-price for the Wavestation and now have the entire collection, in case anyone has questions.)

Looks like this pricing is only for owners of the M1le.

Looks like a nice collection. Too bad it doesn't include the 01/W. I used to use that one a lot.

No, Rick - take another look. Everything in the Legacy Collection is on sale generally for 1/2 price. The M1 LE special you spotted offers the entire Legacy Collection for 1/4 price.

Re: Xils-Labs PolyKB-II

Post by terrybritton »

With the Xils-Labs PolyKB-III just around the corner, they are offering PolyKB-II for 40% off through Dec. 21st. They are likely releasing PolyKB-III at Christmas or a few days afterward. Thing is, buying PolyKB-II at the reduced price will get you a coupon to get the newer version for much less than the normal "new release" price would be, or so that is what has been promised in announcements at KVR.

This synth really is unique, and is one of the best analog emulations out there - I'd put it up there as one of the top three. Lots of fun to play and fiddle around with, too!

Plus, if you own one of the Native Instruments S-Series keyboards, it works with the knobs already, and all the factory patches are already included to browse through from the keyboard when using Komplete Kontrol. (Xils-Labs is on-board as one of the partners using the NKS standard from NI, with this synth as well as with their dual-EMS VCS-3 emulation, the Xils-4.)

That set might have some useful sounds, etc. but my sense from listening to the demos is that it is a bit pre-fab--- it will work for what IT is good at, but might often leave disappointed if YOU have something specific you want. I'm still searching for a good all around orchestral library that is very basic and just for playing/sequencing. I'm not going to waste money on a library I'll hate. Garritan and IK SampleTank are pretty awful. Kontakt's built-in library is hit & miss, (mostly miss).

Orchestral Tools Metropolis Ark 2 preorder

Post by kgdrum »

Not exactly an inexpensive bargain but Orchestral Tools has a preorder price for Metropolis Ark 2 & it sounds AMAZING! The preorder price is 399 euros instead of 599 euros.
If you want a superb orchestral oriented library which leans a bit towards the dark side, I humbly suggest you check this one out.I got MA1 last year ,it's incredible and this sounds even better!

Free Ostinato strings by Sonokinetic!

Post by kgdrum »

As part of Sonokinetics 12 Days of Christmas promotion Day 2 is this library & it's free!
Ostinato Strings by Sonokinetic:
https://www.sonokinetic.net/products/in ... o-strings/
Grab this as soon as you can as there are only 2000 licenses left.......this is a 40GB phrase oriented library.
Sonokinetics approach and gui is different than most developers but always great quality.
You have to set up an account, they are limiting access to downloads as their servers are overloaded,so if you obtain this & set up an account you will have access to Ostinato later when servers calm down.

I think I got "in" with the Sonokinetics deal, but their download manager doesn't appear to be doing anything.

It asks me to enter a code, but doesn't seem to do anything with it.

EDIT: I was entering download codes from my user area. It wanted the activation code from the email they sent. That's working as it should.

Re: Sonokinetic 2nd day of xmas sale on new ostinato strings

Post by mhschmieder »

I got lucky and got Ostinato Strings for free.

I had the same problem at first, but the download manager eventually started working. I think it's likely they were overwhelmed and the server was locked up.

It sounds lovely, but I haven't studied the interface yet for how easy it is to add variation. It's well recorded and might work for a fill here and there, or background stuff where maybe an ostinato is exactly what you want.

Looks like the free copies are exhausted and now it's 50% off instead. My recollection is that it is a brand-new library just released today?

I have Vivace and Tutti but couldn't justify Tutti Vox even at 50% off yesterday as I've been spending too much as it is lately. But there are three single-shot libraries from this year that I am hoping will show up during the twelve-day sale.
