How to set default for Markers to Locked

Post by JZilla »

Hey folks. I've just had an issue where my preferences were lost, and it's been so long since I've done this that I don't remember how to do it. I'd like to have the default for a new marker be in the locked state, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Open the Markers Window (SHIFT-K), and in the Mini-Menu is a "New Marker with options..."
Here you can set this as a locked marker.

In the Commands list, there is a "New Marker with Options" so you would be setting your marker shortcut to trigger this.

Yup, tried that, even when adding a Marker with options, it defaults to being unlocked. I know I had it set before so that all markers added with options were locked, it's just not happening now and I can't remember where I can fix it. Obviously I can always lock them after the fact, it's just one additional (and unnecessary) step.

Sorry about that red herring.

I found it. Go to Preferences, and in the PLAY & RECORD section there is a page for Film Scoring Events. You can enable "New Markers are locked".

Aha! That did the trick. Thanks for figuring it out, I probably would have found it eventually, but the help's much appreciated.
