IRCAM TS is $99 right now

Post by James Steele »

I just got an email from Don'tCrack... looks like introductory sale on IRCAM TS. It seems to be a capable of a whole lot more than this, but I'm thinking of it for adjusting tempo of 2 track masters after mixdown.

Aside from bouncing how is this better than MachFive?

I don't know. I hadn't researched it, but from what I can tell it's a standalone app, so it might just be a bit more convenient workflow for people who don't want to have to import into MachFive? Don't know if algorithms are exactly the same either. Just passing this along is all. :)

I'm tempted just for the BTD. I'll try the demo and see if I can do s comparison.

The algos are the same as Mach 5, but with real time, automatable capability.
IRCAM will eventually turn this into a plugin format as well.

Well this is embarrassing... I already own that. I bought it last Sept (2014) for $99 but when my 8 core died on New Years Eve it fell by the wayside and I forgot to setup the authorization. Apparently I haven't really used the TS and it totally went out of my conscious memory.

DUH!

Played with it a little and frankly, I'd buy it if I didn't already have it.

I also checked my $249 purchase (2009) of the Nomad Producer Pack II and those were lost in the transition to the new Mac in January this year. The links at Don't Crack are gone as is the list of the plugs. I've contacted them and hope they can restore that purchase.

As far as the comparison with M5, TS has a fast and easy interface. I like the detail that M5 offers and that's probably why I stuck with it, but for fast and dirty (actually - fast and clean and easy) TS is also a great tool. Now I just have to remember I have the damn thing - especially when I need it! :surrender:

Hmmm. You might contact Nomad Factory about your serial/authorization.

Actually, I have the authorization in email (I think), I don't have the /zip file. Maybe on my 8 core machine in storage. I'll have to lug it out and check. TS is working fine and authorized right away with the code.

This is something that happens to me with alarmingly increasing regularity. I usually find out before I buy, but I'll have my finger on the button to pay for it, and while I'm writing down the info under that manufacturer/developer's file in my records, I'll notice that I already have a record for that particular object. So, I go looking for it on my hard drive, and... voila! It's usually something I bought after reading about it here, maybe a couple years back, but I never really had a use for it, so... history repeats itself.

Thanx, James! Just received my order.

Put it at work on a complex audio file immediately: awesome!
Sure this one will help me in many situations.

BTW, no ilok dongle required. The authorization process is thru serial number.
I've got one last release ilok, but do not like dongles in general.
