Advice on a 828MKIII spdif input

Post by apanacci »

Hey guys, does anyone know of a inexpensive analog to spdif 96k converter ? I want to bring in my talkback signal into my 828MK III thru spdif in. I have it in the #1 mic/inst on the front but I want to free it up. All of the other inputs on the unit are spoken for. I was looking at the MOTU Microbook, but up in Canada the dollar has dropped and it would cost me $300.00. If I have to I will. Thanks, any suggestions would be great !

Broke down and bought a MicroBook II. It was going for $265.00 in Toronto. About to go up to $300 because of the $. Nice to keep interfaces from the same company. They play nice together !

I think you did the right thing. Things are just more flexible with 2 interfaces, what with more inputs/outputs, the ability to run one or the other or both, and MOTU's interfaces all "play nice" together, appearing in CueMix as one mixing board, same FX, etc.

Sounds like sooner or later you'd have needed those extra inputs, anyway.

Yeah, thanks. I did. Hooked it up today and very happy with it. Motu hardware is rock solid
