Sound Bite editor

Post by guitron45 »

When I was using DP5 and before. I got out of the habit of using the sound bite editor. The few times I tried to do anything with it I decided it wasn't worth the trouble and frustration. I must have been missing some vital because at that resolution the place I wanted to work on went by just under the speed of light.... or so it seemed.

Does the soundbite editor still work the same way? I'm still not doing much in DP. Life keeps getting in the way..... But I'd really like to get back to recording when things smooth out a little.

You should be able to toggle scrolling if that's the issue, or use the scrub tool to drag and listen. In any case when zoomed in to sample level it's hard to see at real speed, if not impossible. It's just a combination of fast computer v. slow(er) brain.

Thank you for the help. I'll be taking a look at that area soon.

I generally like using that editor for most things.

But the key is to get your work-flow down with scrolling and zooming. And keeping track of where you are. Finding things like a pop are still sometimes pretty difficult, but you have to use all the features to help you narrow it down. Then systematically paging left and/or right until you find what you are looking for.

I have my mouse buttons programmed to handle some zoom & scroll functions.

I understand. I will take some practice to get comfortable there.
