Audio waveform is a solid block, but still plays SOLVED!

Post by crduval »

Hi all;

I launched a project I have been working on for the past week or so this morning, and started editing some crossfades on punch-ins on a couple guitar tracks. When I got to the final soundbites, the waveform displayed as just a solid block. I'm not sure if these files are corrupted or not - its a little puzzling since it plays fine (no artifacts, glitches or anything). Anyone have any idea what this is all about? This is the first time anything like this has happened to me.

I checked the soundbite information, everything looks correct (sample rate, format, time stamp…) Could the header of the file just be corrupted so that it doesn't display properly but plays back OK?

Should I worry about it going forward if it sounds fine?

Help appreciated…

Chris

You could try deleting the waveform analysis files in the project folder. That will force DP to re-analyze the waveforms when the project is opened the next time.
