Sudden crash trying to Bounce To Disk..

Post by tonyvose »

Hello all --- Thanks in advance for any help / ideas. I've made no changes with anything re: my rig, and suddenly I cannot Bounce To Disk in this one particular (and important) project I'm working in. Running OS X 10.6.8 on a MacPro 2 X 3 Ghz Quad Core, 18 Gb RAM, DP 8.05, Komplete 5, UAD-2 card, Waves Gold, EastWest Symph. Orch. Platinum, Stylus. All has been working fine until now. I've run Disk Warrior, Repaired Permissions, restarted numerous times. Using around six soft synths, not very many audio tracks nor plug-ins. I can bounce in other projects, just not this one suddenly. Weird.
Thanks very much for any thoughts --- Nick

What kind of error do you get?

It sounds like some of your VIs are not happy to be bounced directly. You could try to freeze them or print them by recording first, and THEN bounce.

Or you can record the output of the whole mix in real time.

I know this doesn't address your problem, but if you need a quick patch/solution, I'd go for the second option while the other guys try to help you figure out your problem.
Mac Mini Server i7 2.66 GHs/16 GB RAM / OSX 10.14 / DP 9.52
Tascam DM-24, MOTU Track 16, all Spectrasonics' stuff,
Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.

Thanks very much! Yes, I did do the whole Aux/ bussing everything/ recording in real time option. It's just weird because I've never had any problem bouncing VI's before this project. There IS a video involved in the project (forgot to mention before..), but my attempted bounces thus far have not included the video. Thanks, & I'll continue to try & solve it..

Have you tried loading the project into a new project?

Do other projects work the way you expect? Or do they all behave the same way now?
