Muting specific MIDI input

Post by JSmith1234567 »

Hi.

I'm trying to use Bome MIDI Translator to change the incoming default MIDI note assignments from a USB MIDI drum pad.

The one I use has default MIDI notes assigned to the pads and is not programmable.

To get MIDI Translator to work, you need to somehow mute the default notes that are coming into DP.

I understand how to pick specific MIDI ports to record from, but it is easier in DP to set things to take input from any-and-all MIDI inputs, especially if you use more than one MIDI controller.

Is there any way around this to mute just the drum pad?

You can't use bundles, and as near as I can tell, not AudioMidi Setup either.

Thanks!

In both Bundles and Audio-MIDI setup, you can restrict the MIDI channels a device uses. Can you turn off the channels that have the notes you don't want? Have a look at the Edit button in Bundles when a MIDI device is selected for a MIDI device bundle. Or the same in AudioMIDI Setup.

I was not able to make that work.

I don't have an option for that in bundles, nor AudioMidi.

I should have added that this is a USB device. It sends MIDI notes via USB.

Thanks.

Really? This is what I see in AudioMIDISetup and Bundles for my DM5.
