So it's OK to update Contact or not?

First off, they dropped support for 10.7, if that affects anyone.

What's 10.7? DP is at 8.07, OS X is at 10.10.1, where 10.1 is the operative counting number, and Contact is at 5.4.1... so what's 10.7?

My pain was with the libraries - after the update, Kontakt, (in fact everything NI) had lost the paths to my libraries - I keep them off my boot drive, on my RAID array, but that shouldn't have caused the problems it did. I had to resort to a lot of extra work to get everything back to normal.

See here for more.

I hope you don't encounter what I encountered.
Cheers,
BK

FWIW, Kontakt 5.4.2 was released early in November. I got around to installing it about a week
ago, as I had been on the road until recently and handn't bothered to check my NI Service Center for the updates until I got back.

5.4.2 seems to be running just fine on my system, in fact it's running more smoothly than
5.4.1 did. And for you Sample Modeling afficianodos, there was also an update to the Trombone 3 posted in the NI Service Center "content" section which fixes the "content missing"
message for Trombone 3 which appeared in Kontakt 5.4.1. Run the Trombone 3.02 installer
exactly as the included instructions explain, and voila, the Trombone v.3 will now appear as one of your libraries again.

I recommend downloading and installing Kontakt 5.4.2 if you haven't already done so. I think
it addresses most of the issues reported in this thread.

Getting Kontakt going again wasn't fun, the after-party was.

I think you mean produkt. And I think MLC is talking about updating his Contact for Kontakt, not Kontakt.

I got tired of retyping every time I tried to spell Kontakt, and it corrected it to "Contact." Sue Apple. And I STILL don't know what 10.7 is.
