Paradise Marimba -- dark new jazz marimba from Orange Tree

I grabbed it as soon as I heard the one working audio demo (demo #2; demo #1 is reggae but apparently a placeholder as it doesn't play).

I have a gazillion marimbas in various libraries, but have six dedicated marimba-only libraries, and this is the first one that has matched the darker timbre I hear in my head for jazz work.

It's $79 until the end of September. Same sampling team as for their excellent vibraphone.

They must be working on the webpage; the second demo was there when I checked earlier but the first demo didn't play.

I didn't notice the embedded demos at vi-control at first -- the reggae one is even nicer than the jazz one as one never hears anyone use a marimba this way in library demos (even though it's a natural, given the origins of the instrument).

I am really happy with this purchase. I still plan to buy a real marimba by the end of 2015, but there will always be a need at the mock-up stage and/or for different timbres than what one marimba can produce even with different mallets and playing styles.
