In case you were considering both Mac and PC versions: There are separate Mac and Windows download menus for the Sound files. I verified with support that you can just download the Mac versions of the Sound file folder, and these contain a .exe that can be used to install under Windows. No need to download both versions.

Yes that link works. Thanks. I am on my way.

If you already have products installed, you might run into the endless loop where 1.09 kept downloading the 1.09 version as its own update. A little issue on IK's back end.

I'm into day 3 of trying to get a clean download of the sound file zips. I got 1. 2-8 keep timing out or if they show up, they're not unzippable.

Kind of frustrating.

I downloaded the sample files with iGetter no problem. Have you tried a download manager?

I did the installation last night, but the downloading, copying, unzipping, and installing took so long (about four hours total) that I didn't have the energy to try any of the sounds afterwards.

I got one error on SonikSynth during the importation of legacy stuff, but am not sure where the error was as it seemed to import everything (when I compare directories). I'm afraid to delete the original until I know for sure.

Don't forget to hit the circular arrow to rebuild your multis and instruments after importing all your legacy stuff as well as after unzipping the eight parts to the sound set installer.

I'm not fond of the interface; as before, it's a bit fuzzy and hard on the eyes due to the grey/red theme.

Yes, I think there are probably skins, but the overall rendering is very old-school. Given that the installed files are ten times as big as before, I expected maybe they'd moved forward with sharp anti-aliased fonts. I can't drill into the executable once I show package contents, or into those huge files with the same suffix as the sound banks and which show up in the application support directories, so don't know why ST3 takes almost half a gig on the primary drive.

I had similar problems, and next time will order the boxed version because the massive file downloads are frustrating. But for these, I eventually used iGetter, and while it took time, it did work.

I use Folx to download from sites that don't deliver large files reliably. Free at App Store. For this, Safari was fine but only 4 files could be downloaded at a time.

The Opera browser is great for downloading difficult files -- only reason I keep it.

I finally had time to get this up and running I loaded the samples in the same directory as as the old 2.5 stuff but when ST3 scans the directory it doesn't pickup the 2.5 library just the ST3 stuff.
Any ideas?

A little more poking around and I found the answer.
ST3 comes 25gig of new sounds the rest is the old ST2.5 library.
I'll have to look through it and see if anything is familiar it would be nice if there was a way to tell what was new and what was old.

There's an import function to convert your old libraries. I used it to convert miroalav but st3 appears to have at least most of the same sounds

The import legacy files?
I'm going to try that later and just call it ST2.5
I'll see what happens.
