The samples wouldn't be 64 bit, just the player. I thought the IKM players were very similar, with different skins, so making one players for all the samples is a reasonable thing for IKM to do.

If so, I can't find it anywhere.

I do see the full 32bit version of Miroslav at $149 on Amazon plus the XL bundle at $175. If one is looking at paying te $249, might as well buy one of these others first so that you qualify for the $99 upgrade that will let you import these older, more complete libraries.

Total XL $175
It's here. http://www.bestservice.de/en/string_ensembles_2_0.html
But the vendor's own site appears to be dead.
... and, if you don't qualify for the $99 upgrade, there is the $149 option for those with the "lesser" versions of ST and Miroslav, and some other IKM products. Still better than 175.

Not necessarily. The extra $26 gets you the following:

Nearly 20,000 sounds, 43 GB of Samples
Includes all “Powered by SampleTank” plug-ins:
SampleTank 2.5 XL
Miroslav Philharmonik
Sonik Synth 2
SampleMoog™
SampleTron
All 15 of the Xpansion Tank 2 Multi-Sampled Instrument collections
33 DSP-based effects
3 Synth-engines, featuring the newly-enhanced STRETCH™
Over 50 synth/sampler controls
All the sounds are compatible with SampleTank® 2.5
Artist Signature Presets made by some of the top producers and artists in the industry
Can be expanded to include Xpansion Tank 2 Loop collections

So, not only do you get the complete Miroslav Philharmonik but the complete versions of Sonik Synth 2,
SampleMoog & SampleTron plus all expansion packs. SampleTank 2.5 is redundant as all of its sounds are included in ST3.

I have no interest in the other three programs but, for a total of $275, that's a pretty intense collection - especially since the pre-order of ST3 is $249 if you don't own any of these yet. Total XL, by itself, is $299 on the IK web site.

Seeing that the price of Miroslav Philharmonik has dropped to $149 on the IK site, perhaps a reseller can get it for a little less.

Not my issue. I purchased Miroslav Philharmonik a number of years ago and am looking forward to playing with ST3.

The IK web site does say that the included MP samples are 64biit and promises that they are better than 32bit the versions. Thus my speculation that a real upgrade may be out someday. True or not, I don't care.

At $99, if I find anything useful, it's worth the money.

I am looking forward to seeing if the guitar modules and player can help me make decent guitar tracks, now that I am no longer to play the real thing. I have spent way too much money on this quest already and have yet to find anything worth a damn for a one-armed player who used to be quite good.

I think the town and the bassist are separate entities each with a string library named after. I can't really tell if there's a connection or not.

Both products are from Miroslav Vitous the bassist. I didn't know there was a town called Miroslav until you mentioned it. I looked it up just now and it is predictably in Czechia.

The newer product is aid to be quite good but didn't get a lot of attention due to its price at the time it came out, which many felt was too much considering current competition. The price at Best Service is much lower so they must have adjusted it at some point. I don't think it has choirs though, or wind controller friendly patches like the IK product.

Thanks. Now we know. Perhaps he and IK will work something out for 64bit. I'm not holding my breath. If it happens, I'll deal with it then.

I preordered the ST3 upgrade this morning. I hope that, when it ships, the early adopter growing pains are at a minimum.

For those of you asking, the Miroslav Philharmonik was itself a remastered version of another "Miroslav Vitous" orchestral sample library. Also, everything but SampleTank itself are libraries created by Sonic Reality, which is why, in the past, SampleTank got upgraded, then, the other libraries/VIs slowly followed suit. Really, you can pretty much run everything out of SampleTank 2 -- Sonik Synth 2 has almost the identical interface, although I like Philharmonik's GUI over SampleTank's, so I have three extra VIs (Sonik Synth 2, Philharmonik and Mellotron) that I don't even need. Makes it easier to organize without drilling through eight million file trees in ST 2.

So long as SampleTank 3 can utilize the present libraries/Xpansion Tanks/Capsules, I might upgrade, but since I'm still on a 32-bit system, and since I mainly use Kontakt, I'll probably hold off for a while.

I hear you. The only version of ST 2.5 I own is the free one but I really like the piano VI as it sits nicely in a dense mix.

ST 3 has a few things that that easily justify the $99 for me - and a ton of extras that I may not ever use. Fortunately, it will sit on a drive and not take more room in my basement.

Made a lot of scores with the original Miroslav Samplecell II Library. And amazingly, the sounds still hold up. But they certainly were a lot of work with hocking all the articulations to dozens of tracks.

Has anyone purchased this? Just curious for initial impressions.

I am tempted to upgrade, but when I really think about it, I find not lacking for any instruments in my current arsenal.

But of course. Thank you, my brother.

Has anyone contemplated purchasing this? Just curious for initial impressions from the video / audio samples.

I pre-ordered. I can't do the fix to jbridge required to get some of the IKM instruments to work (IIRC, you need a 64 bit VST Mac host other than DP to do it?). I could get 32lives, but for the same price I can get the upgrade to ST3, and IKM is the only stuff I have left that is 32 bit. I set up an inter-app link between DP and DSP-Quattro to access IKM VIs in the interim.

IKM seems to struggle with updates, and their authorization process is annoying, but I find the sounds very usable. Getting all 4 IKM VIs working properly in DP 64 bit is worth $99 to me.

If there are some useful new functions and improved samples in ST3, even better. The ads says there are lots of new things, but I didn't really understand the point of most of it.
