Project Cherry Picker!!!

Post by James Steele »

Okay... just had a convo with Buzzy in another topic and I think it's time to see if we can't entice the developer of Cherry Picker to update this indispensable app. If you don't know Cherry Picker is a fantastic tool for creating custom patchlists and I keep one machine with a Snow Leopard partition just for this purpose because it will not run on Lion or later. :(

When I download the CherryPicker zip archive the creation date is 9/29/05 so this app is approaching nine years old. The author is Rob Martin, but I don't have an email address for him. I'm going to try and Google him, but if anybody has any contact info, please share it.

I'm hoping we can get enough people to pledge to kick in to buy it that we might be able to resurrect this very useful tool the way we were able to with the 64bit AlphaTrack bundle.

Let's see where this takes us...

Okay... first Google search turned up a post here. Buzzy... you posted that Rob emailed you. Do you still have an email address for him?

Okay... just emailed to the main contact email address here:

Also Buzzy got back to me and he may still have the email address but it's a couple of years old. Maybe we'll get lucky. Would be great if CherryPicker could be resurrected!

I'm in with this. Great idea, James.

I'm still on 10.6.8. Mainly due to two things -- Cherry Picker, and, the editor for my Axon AX 100 MIDI guitar rack unit, which does not work in Lion +

I'd love to get that one too updated. Anyone else here also? Maybe I should start a thread about that......

Thanks again for getting this rolling, James. :)

I also keep a 10.6.8. setup, in part to be able to run Cherry Picker. There have been people on Logic Forums looking for this too. Here's hoping it happens.

I'm just curious... who here is using hardware synths regularly enough that you'd really like CherryPicker to be updated?

Count me in!

I have 3 that have "lost" their patch lists along the way.

And, when I boot up from ML, I think that increases to 5.

I still use and hold on to my Triton Rack, and Cherry Picker is the key link between it and DP :)

I still have a few of Roland and Kurzweil units that I'd like to keep in service. My older laptop is still Leopard, but that won't last forever...

Thank you, James!

I still use a Roland and a Korg sound module.

Last month I need to set them up again for DP, I have to edit the XML files myself on my 10.8 machine. It would be great to have Cheery Picker again.
