IRCAM Lab TS - Serrato competition? Demo available

Post by James Steele »

Just got the email below. This looks like this might be a pretty cool option for time stretching or tempo adjusting mixes, etc. Easier than loading into MachFive. Here are the actual links from the screen capture:

That looks VERY promising!

Pardon the aside, but I love the line "A new line of software based on decades of research that will blow your mind with their powerful algorithms based on decades of research!"

It's always good to see that the Department of Redundancy Department is still alive and well!

But we know that IRCAM's algorithms are truly amazing, and it does look easier than loading into Mach Five. It's just a matter of how much inconvenience that much money ($249) will justify.

That's what I saw in one of the forums in those links. I didn't get that from the IRCAM site.

Yeah, for that price I'd rather put some more money together and get MachFive instead.
And since I have MachFive, doing it there definitely beats the 250 bucks.

A DP clipping with a few MachFive channels is perfect for this and makes it almost as fast to set up as this new product.
Mac Mini Server i7 2.66 GHs/16 GB RAM / OSX 10.14 / DP 9.52
Tascam DM-24, MOTU Track 16, all Spectrasonics' stuff,
Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.
