Lion or Mountain Lion Best for DP 7.24?

Post by Tidwells@aol.com »

Was DP 7.24 more stable on Lion or Mountain Lion OSX? DP 7.24 has been glitching live onstage running in Mavericks for me. I can't use DP 8.06 until they fix the DV video out over firewire feature. I need to take a step or two backwards on a fresh disk partition. I would appreciate as many opinions as possible!

I like ML a lot with DP8. Haven't made the move to Mavericks, and may never do so on my current 5,1 Mac Pro.

Mountain Lion is far better than Lion. I'm not sure about Mavericks yet, so I'll wait to see how people find 10.9.3 before considering it.

I'm using 7.24 on mountain lion and all is fine - no urge to go to either mavericks or dp8 yet

Can I ask what your issue is with DV firewire video?

Things seem flakey with it in the latest DP rev, but I can't put my finger on the problem?

Thanks!

DP8 didn't (doesn't?) like many dv files. I think it has something to do with the codec used. The new version of Finale also has serious movie problems so
I think the OS may also be at fault. .mov files should work but won't stream to external devices AFAIK.
