:?: saving automation play in template

I enable automation play on all tracks, then save as Template, but when I open a new file from this template the automation play is disabled. What am I missing here?

You can't save any automation on regular DP templates.

For this, simply copy the whole empty template DP folder elsewhere and work from this copy. This way you can include anything you want in them.
Mac Mini Server i7 2.66 GHs/16 GB RAM / OSX 10.14 / DP 9.52
Tascam DM-24, MOTU Track 16, all Spectrasonics' stuff,
Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.

Thanks, sounds good, but I can't find the template folder. Where is it?

You create it yourself out of any "regular" DP project (the root folder containing all the needed DP stuff, e.g., the empty Audio, Autosave folders).

Call that your template folder. Every time you start a new project, duplicate this folder and work from there. Leave everything exactly the way you want to see it when you open it.

I created some Applescripts that take care of all that (and much more), but it can be done manually easily.

Ok thanks man!

Still kind of sucks that templates can't keep automation...

A DP Template will open with automation play enabled if it's chosen in Automation Setup (before saving the template).
