DP 8.06 and Mavericks 10.9.3 public beta

Post by James Steele »

As some of you know (and I think I read here), Apple is allowing the public to sign up for the 10.9.3 beta. It's probably very close to actual release already. You can get it here:

Any way, I put it on my MacBook last night and seemed pretty good. Being eager to finally get to that "golden" version of Mavericks, I threw caution to the wind and installed it on my DAW computer. So far, DP 8.06 seems to be working well. Only thing that seemed unusual is DP 8.06 examined Altiverb 6 again... not sure why... but it could be completely unrelated.

Anyway... I loaded a few project snd played back. Certainly not an exhaustive test, but things seem okay with DP.

(Also: Hope against hope, I tried to launch Now Contact, which had worked through Mountain Lion, and still no luck. How I miss that app.)

Thanks for that James. I'll kick in as well tonight. NUTD is a great app. I miss it as well but dropped it a few years ago. Netscape also used to handle mail pretty well. I used to think that was as good as it gets. That's funny!

If anyone finds that it fixes the unsteady scrolling and other issues in the Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse, I'll download it in a New York minute.

You could always buy a new hard drive and put 10.8.5 or 10.6.8 on it and transfer the stuff you want and just start over. That's basically what I did with this new to me Mac Pro it had a 250 and a 500 gig drive in it and I added 2 2tb drives to it put 10.6.8 on 1 transferred what I needed from my old G5 got it up a running with DP 7.24 and my other VI's. And when I find
a newer machine I'll just pull the drives out upgrade to 10.8.5 and be on my way. And when they work out the kinks in 10. whatever you guys will let me know and I'll move up. But till then I'll be on 10.6.8 on the Mac Pro and 10.8.5 on the laptop. I got Western Digital drives
from BandH audio, they were $145 but now they've gone up to $165 but it's still doable.
