I mainly use virtual instruments and I'm trying to figure out better ways of getting around in DP. Here's my normal workflow...
I'll create an instrument with options adding maybe 4 MIDI tracks into a single folder along with the instrument track. Doing this automatically assigns the MIDI tracks incrementally so I don't have to manually (is there a way to do this after the fact? Select multiple MIDI tracks and increment the MIDI channel?)
I'll then move the instrument (in this case Kontakt) into a v-rack.
What's hard for me is when I'm working with MIDI and I'd like to get to the instrument that MIDI track is outputting to. I can pull up the mix window (which isn't my favorite) or I can use a shortcut to open the actual instrument but what I'm looking for is similar to the channel strip. Is there a way to show a different channel strip than what is selected? That way I could select my MIDI track and then somehow jump to the full channel strip of that instrument. Possible?

Re: MIDI tracks and virtual instruments
For the first part of your question, these shortcuts may be useful:
1. Select a MIDI track(s)
2. SHIFT-UP/DOWN ARROW to change output device/VI
3. OPT-UP/DOWN ARROW to change output channel
4. SHIFT-OPT-UP/DOWN ARROW to move selection to next track
Notice that you can select a group of tracks and change the device/VI and it will retain the channel setting. If you change the MIDI channel of multiple tracks it will nudge each channel setting up/down one-at-a-time
