There are many who now use DP 8 on the new Mac Pro. If you use the Search function, you will find many threads on the subject.
Any currently shipping MOTU usb interface will work. The Hybrid interfaces work through the Firewire adapter or usb.
Some of the older interfaces also work either through the adapter or usb. There has been an issue where some users found it best to use a powered usb-2 hub.
