t QuickScribe file into Finale

Post by Groovyuvy »

How can I get a QuickScribe file into Finale so I can do enhanced edits, I.e., slurs, staccato, and other marking not available in QuickScribe?

Save the track(s) as a MIDI file and then import into Finale.

I usually make a copy of the original track(s) and heavily quantize (attacks and durations) to make Finale's job easier. More than likely, you'll still have to manually fix or enter a few notes here and there.

Also check velocities. Sometimes notes with really low velocities won't appear when imported. In my experience, anyway. Either QuickScribe or Finale seem to treat those as mistakes.

There's always that nice pen sitting over there. :P Seriously, sometimes if there's just some articulations, I might print out & just mark up by hand. Not always practical, but sometimes.
