For anyone who has experienced a very slight high frequency graining of vocals when tuning using DPs pitch automation ......
(check out this video if you're not that au fait with it)
http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtop ... 27&t=43378
..... I have just tried tuning just such a vocal, recorded @ 44.1khz 24 bit and the graininess was really bothering me
So I just had the idea of attempting the same operation in a 96K project (the max that my converters will allow) and WOW what a difference!!
Why I never thought of doing this before, I'll never know!
Gonna tune like this is in the future then convert back to 44.1 and reload into the project for mixing
Hope this helps
Regards
Sean
PS for what it's worth, graining in my experience is hit and miss and only occurs with really powerful or naturally grainy or slightly raspy vocals
