I believe is related to DSP. The more the CPU is pushed the longer it takes to audition. Then again, it might be a combination of things. You can see my setup below which is nothing out of the ordinary, although I do have a large template.

Each device that adds its own driver should be counted. Multiple devices using the same driver are counted as 1.
