Really helpful thread, thanks Mark.

One more correction - the Korg Legacy stuff became 64-bit a few months ago.
I have all the 64-bit Korg plug-ins and they work just fine in DP 8.

I might have forgotten to update the KLC status as it ended up having its own topic. I initially had some slowness with Wavestation starting up and sometimes crashing, but all is well now.

Except for AutoTune 7 64bit, that goes for everything from Antares.

NUSofting reported over at KVR on 28 April 2013 that they do plan to port their plugs to 64-bit on the Mac, but not anytime soon, saying that jBridge should be enough for people for now.

I understand they're a small developer, so that's an acceptable response, and it is good to see confirmation that they are still around as their website hasn't been updated in eons.

Just got an email today that 112dB Redline Monitor is out now in 64-bit mode, and done with beta testing.

Good timing as I have a deadline sensitive soundtrack project to complete by this coming weekend!

Add Audio Ease Speakerphone and the FX bundles as well to the 32 bit list...

[edit] Checking their forum they announced that they were "close" with 64 bit Speakerphone a little over a month ago.

AAS Ultra Analog released as 64-bits earlier this week (free to current owners).

Slate Digital's Trigger drum replacement software V2.0 64-bit update came out today (also free to current owners).

I think all the G-Force stuff is 64-bits by now... the list is getting smaller...

Here's the official statement from Slate Digital regarding their ongoing efforts to port to 64 bits:

IMPORTANT NEWS FROM STEVEN SLATE REGARDING AAX/64 BIT PORTING:

To our valued customers, we know that you want more of our legacy plugins to be ported to 64bit and AAX, and I promise you that we are working around the clock to get it done.

VTM - This plugin is likely next in line, and we're making great progress.

SSD4 - This is also making great progress, and will see an update in around 30 to 60 days

VCC - This is a very difficult port due to the complex communication system and because we are fixing some internal issues, but we have some ideas that will help speed the process up quite a bit. We will be implementing these ideas next week. We know how many of you rely on this plugin, and we are doing everything possible to expedite the 64bit AAX delivery.

FG-X - This is our most complex plugin to port to the new framework. There are several reasons behind this. It was our very first plugin and the code is not nearly as efficient as our newer plugins, and therefore it is being completely rewritten for our new framework so that the updated plugin will have a dramatic decrease in CPU hit, and also work even better.

Folks, we're in the process of increasing our DSP and Software Development team so that we can provide you with these updates as soon as possible. Fabrice and I have been working on new plugins, and you'll see some announcements at AES about this, but be assured that this does NOT mean that we don't have extensive resources reserved for porting legacy plugins in parallel to these new releases. Your loyalty and support means everything to me, and I will not let you down. The new 64bit plugins are certainly coming late and for this I apologize, but my promise is that they will work even better, be more efficient, and continue to provide amazing sound for your mixes.

Now, given how busy Fabrice is helping Steven, I do hope he still has resources or time to get his own plugs ported to 64-bits, as they mostly involve side-chains and so are a lot trickier to host in wrappers. I have to use BIAS Peak off-line on individual tracks currently and then re-import to DP.

FG-X is a favorite of mine and if they lower the CPU hit, that's worth the wait AFAIC. :headbang:

According to my notes only FG-X is still 32-bits so maybe the other comments are regarding AAX porting.

Right. He was talking about updating FG-X to 64-bit is how I read it and that they've opted to pretty much do a major rewrite to improve efficient while they were at it.

I miss Stillwell's Rocket.
Cheers,
BK

…string theory says that all subatomic particles of the universe are nothing but musical notes. A, B-flat, C-sharp, correspond to electrons, neutrinos, quarks, and what have you. Therefore, physics is nothing but the laws of harmony of these strings. Chemistry is nothing but the melodies we can play on these strings. The universe is a symphony of strings and the mind of God… it is cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace.

I'm very happy that they are rewriting the code. On the other hand, I want it yesterday. So, to Slate and Co., thank you for your commitment to making our favorite plugin better, but now quit reading this thread and get back to work!
